How to Donate Goods
Because of our limited storage space, we cannot accept everything. We ask that you call the Development Office at 207-874-1080 x7102 in advance to ensure that we have the capacity to receive your donation.
Please note that you will be asked to make arrangements for large donations through our Property Management Department.
Accepted Items
- Household Items: New Only pots and pans, utensils, plates and dishes, dish racks/drainers
- Toiletries: New/Unopened shampoo, soap, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc., sunscreen, q-tips, first aid supplies, etc.
- Essentials: New Only: Men’s boxers, women’s underwear and bras, socks, winter hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, duffle bags, backpacks, towels
- New Home Supplies: New Only: mops, brooms, towels, linens, basic cleaning supplies, sponges, paper towels, garbage bags
Restricted Items
We appreciate your support!
Unfortunately, Shalom House cannot accept donations of clothing, used mattresses, large appliances and televisions.
We also cannot accept any items that are broken, missing pieces or in poor condition.
Federal & Health regulations prevent Shalom House from accepting the following: batteries, drugs, mattresses, refrigerators, freezers, washers, or dryers.
We also cannot accept industrial cleaners, chemicals, tires or weapons.
